[Craftsman Films] Here's what's happening in December!

CRAFTSMAN FILMS

December 16, 2025

Welcome to the weekly Craftsman Films Newsletter, for those who seek the creative independence to make a living producing meaningful work and to build Blockbuster businesses.

Bit of a "link-letter" today, as there's lots happening and lots of news over the last few weeks to get caught up on if you missed it!

Craftsman Films

December live call is THIS FRIDAY at 1pm Mountain Time. Hoping it works for our Aussie friends :)

Today is the last day to sign up for Craftsman Films Consulting.

I've changed up the offer - it's now a half-day intensive personalized for you and your business. We'll walk through the whole MOVIE framework together to help you reach a goal/milestone in the next 90 days. Schedule a complimentary discovery call below if you're interested in consulting.

I likely won't be offering consulting next year, but rather 4 separate retreats. More info below, but if you want one-on-one consulting, sign up now. Offer ends tonight at 11:59pm. I opened up some more slots on my calendar because of the demand, but if you don't see something that works, just reply and let me know.

Retreats! I've been working behind the scenes to figure out what retreats look like in 2026, especially since we already have 3 people who have preordered without even knowing the dates or locations! (These will take place of my Consulting offer in 2026, to allow for more people to work with me and what my schedule allows)

Here's what I'm tentatively looking at, given my current tentative schedule for 2026.

Four Craftsman Films Retreats

Producer's Retreat - three days to get your current project to the next milestone, and build the foundation for a long, profitable producing career.

Writer's Retreat - what makes a produceable script. How to connect with financiers, collaborators, and those that can help make your movie. How to build a sustainable writing career in this (crazy) industry.

Director's Retreat - How to get oversubscribed as a director/filmmaker so that you have a profitable full-time career. How to enroll financiers and producers who can help make your project a success. The principles for thriving in the film industry.

Leadership Retreat - for companies already doing 7 figures+ a year, how to partner with incredible team members and collaborators, get oversubscribed, and build a sustainable, profitable business. Focus for this retreat is on building oversubscribed businesses and understanding the levers that help you grow faster than ever before, in a way that aligns with your vision and values as a leader.

Each will be 3 days long (eg, fly in on Monday, dinner Monday Night, programming on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday morning, fly out Thursday Night). Most likely all hosted at the Sundance Mountain Resort.

Cost will be somewhere in the $3000-4500 range for the three filmmaker retreats, and $12-15k for the leadership retreat (for companies already doing 7 figures a year in revenue). Price includes the retreat, lodging, and meals all included, so you just need to figure out your travel to SLC or Provo airports, or if you want to drive that works too.

I'm prioritizing those who want to stay at the resort, but if we end up with unsold spots, I did open up two "locals" options, which was just the retreat + food, without the lodging. But, honestly, it's better to stay at the resort ;)

I'm looking at late-May and September-October for these retreats. Depending on which has the most demand is how I'll likely choose which 1-2 happen in May, and the rest will take place in Sept/October (the best time of year with the leaves changing, etc...)

If you're interested in getting first crack at a spot at one of these retreats, please register your interest here (the Producer's Retreat in September sold out, so you'll want to be on this list...)
